The Wyeth – Tootle Manor is a historic house located at 11th & Charles sts. Built in 1879 by William M. Wyeth, it was designed by Mann Architects in Gothic style. They had travelled extensively throughout Europe to gather ideas and build the mansion which was completed in 1883. The Tootles owned the house from 1887 until it was sold.
The mansion is three stories high and has a tower. The house is home to more than 40 rooms. Beautiful woodwork, imported stained glass, and hand-painted ceilings are just a few of the features found in the interior. The interior allows visitors to experience the life of a late 19th-century resident. The Wyeth–Tootle Mansion is found in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was also a member and past president of the Wyeth Duck Club (St. Joseph Duck Club) and the Audubon Society (St. Joseph Duck Club). He was also the president and founder of the St. Joseph Hardware Company.
