Wyeth-Tootle Mansion.
The mansion, which dates back to the late 19th-century, is filled with period furniture and art. On request, tours are offered. For history buffs, this mansion should be a must-see. Special events include a black tie gala and other special events.
The Wyeth - Tootle Manor at 11th & Charles sts is a historic home. William M. Wyeth built the mansion in 1879. Mann Architects designed it in Gothic style. They had travelled extensively throughout Europe to gather ideas and build the mansion which was completed in 1883. The Tootles lived there until 1887 when it was sold.
The mansion consists of three floors and a tower. The house contains more than 40 rooms. Beautiful woodwork, hand-painted ceilings and imported stained windows are all part of the interior.
