The Wyeth - Tootle Manor at 11th & Charles sts is a historic home. William M. Wyeth constructed it in 1879. The Gothic design was created by Eckel and Mann Architects. They had travelled extensively throughout Europe to gather ideas and build the mansion which was completed in 1883. The Tootles lived here until 1887, when the property was sold.
The mansion includes three floors and one tower. The house contains more than 40 rooms. The interior is decorated with beautiful woodwork, handpainted ceilings, and imported stain glass. It is possible to see what it was like living in the 19th century. The Wyeth–Tootle Mansion can be found near St. Joseph in Missouri. He was also an active member of the Wyeth Duck Club as well as the St. Joseph Duck Club as well as Audubon Society. He was also the president of St. Joseph Hardware Company which he owned and managed.
