The Wyeth - Tootle Manor, at 11th and Charles sts., is a historical mansion. Built in 1879 by William M. Wyeth, it was designed by Mann Architects in Gothic style. They gathered ideas from their European travels and built the mansion in 1883. The Tootles owned the house from 1887 until it was sold.
The mansion has three floors, and a tower. The house boasts more than 40 bedrooms. Beautiful woodwork, hand-painted ceilings and imported stained windows are all part of the interior. The interior allows visitors to experience the life of a late 19th-century resident. The Wyeths-Tootle Mansion, located in downtown St. Joseph is a great place to visit. He was also the president of St. Joseph Hardware Company which he owned and managed.
